We had a trip to Karatsu in the summer of 2021. We went to Karatsu by car. So you can go there by rental car or train. It took us to reach Karatsu about one hour by car and about one hour and a half by train.

At first, we had a lunch at Popote in Karatsu city. This restaurant is famous for the delicious and good-looking food, and the nice view from the restaurant because this restaurant is on the half way up a mountain.
The signboard was cute!
The food was also cute and beautiful and delicious!! We enjoyed very much.
Please be careful that you have to wait because this restaurant is very popular in Karatsu. So we recommend you go here before noon! Then after the perfect lunch, we moved to Kagamiyama Observatory (鏡山展望台). It took just 5 minutes to go from the restaurant by car! So close!! sky and nice weather.
Then we explore the green field of above photo. That is Niji-no-matsubara pine forests (虹ノ松原). Niji-no-matsubara is a very famous pine forest in Japan and nominated as the three largest pine forests in Japan and other prizes about Japanese beautiful scenery.
Actually, we got lost at Niji-no-matsubara. It was very hard to walk between the forests. I felt like walking the same way again and again... And finally, we could find the way to the beach. There were no person without us.
We enjoyed the sound of waves and good wind.
A famous hamburger shop is in Niji-no-matsubara. Karatsu is also famous for Karatsu-burger (唐津バーガー). We buy the delicious hamburger there!

Our final destination of Karatsu trip was Karatsu-jo castle (唐津城). Karatsu-jo castle is a symbol of Karatsu. Karatsu castle has its own parking lot, so it is easy to go by car!! This photo was taken from the parking lot.
We go up on foot and by elevator. Yes, Karatsu-jo has elevator!! So easy to go!!! then we managed to reach the castle.
The view from Karatsu-jo was nice as well. The wind was so good! We could see all of Karatsu from here.
At last, we went back to Karatsu seaside hotel and took rest. Karatsu was nice city. The view was perfect everywhere we went. Just one hour by car, you can enjoy these spot!! Please have a good time in Karatsu.
